Highly regarded as the country’s premier single-seater series, the championship uses the Tatuus T-421 second-generation F4 car, complete with a Halo-style safety device, Abarth engine and Pirelli control tyres.

Since its most recent inception, which came back in 2014 when the decision was taken to replace the Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain with the then titled MSA Formula, a constant stream of drivers have gone on to race in some of the biggest categories in world motorsport.

The most high profile examples include current McLaren Formula 1 team-mates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, Williams Racing Formula 1 driver Logan Sergeant, Formula E racer Dan Ticktum and IndyCar race winner Colton Herta.

For 2023, Higgins will hope to one day add his name to the illustrious list of alumni as he lines up on the grid with Fortec Motorsport – one of the most prestigious teams in UK motor racing that boasts a rich history spanning more than three decades.
