We our first race of the year ended up as Round 1 of the Bayford Championship. After entering R1 of the Buckmore Winter championship and it being cancelled, missing the Bayford Warm up meeting due to family commitments and kart issues in Buckmore Round 2 it was a relief to finally be racing again.
Overall it is produced James’ best owner driver result to date, 4th.
A temporary switch of teams as we focus on understanding the 2017 Project One yielded improvements as we ran through the weekend.

The final started badly as others has obviously gone for higher starting pressures with James temporarily losing a couple of places, but James was quickly back to 5 th place and pushing on. By lap 6 James was up to third chasing Aston Miller in 2nd. Steadily the gap closed from 2.66 seconds to under a 1 sec on the penultimate lap. James slightly over drove on the last lap ultimately losing 3rd Place to Ronnie Mansfield.
